Mushgroom Prototypes 1

Am working on an idea for my etsy store.  I have never really worked with clay, except for those tiny pinch pots you make in elementary school.. which my mom apparently still has. Working with clay today was fun, and it felt like I was discovering clay for the first time.. remembering that you can roll a ball of it in your hands, remembering that that then leaves prints from the insides of your hands on the clay… finding odd tools to become my clay-working tools, that were never designed to mold or shape clay. It was very enjoyable. I think I should do it again. :)

These are the samples or proofs-of-concept, based on some drawings I did last year. The end goal, will be to make molds and cast them out of porcelain and paint them with translucent glazes. A very tiny shelf will also be constructed at some point. Time to invest in power tools.

34 things.

It is only recently that I have begun reading blogs on a regular basis. And even so, most of the *blogs* I read are lists or contain tons of photos with links or short blurbs. So, let’s dispense with the blog title and start calling them lists.

One of the types of lists I am drawn to is the list of things to do before you age another year. I love this list by Andrea, of Hula Seventy. So in honor of getting things done, here is my list of 34 things to do before turning 35. (Currently I am 33.. so I am getting less than a month’s head-start.)

Blog-Spiration

I always have such conflicted feelings about starting a blog. I like them but they sometimes inconvenience me or feel like such an indulgence. So as a result, I am refusing to make a blog, but rather a list. A list to keep me honest on the things I am trying to accomplish. I’m good at lists. I love them in fact.

So here we are.
